The Careers Expo held at UOW Shoalhaven Campus was overflowing with representatives from TAFE, UOW, Defence Forces, HVTC, as well as private colleges like Whitehouse Institute of Design. Many local businesses and agencies were also represented on the day, allowing students to talk to a range of professionals about industry, study, training and employment opportunities.

We were privileged to have been a part of this year’s Careers Expo hosted by the University of Wollongong. The students we met and who shared with us their talents were awe inspiring! 

High school students of today will likely have jobs that don’t even exist yet, or multiple careers over the course of their working life. This is a reality Shoalhaven Careers Expo facilitator Leanne Windsor hopes the expo will help address.

The annual Shoalhaven Careers Expo for 2017 is Thursday, July 20 and this year promises to be the best yet.  From 9 am, over 800 Year 10 students from Shoalhaven high schools will start arriving at the Shoalhaven Campus of the University of Wollongong in West Nowra.

Ulladulla students got a glimpse of their potential futures at the Shoalhaven Careers Expo last week.

The annual careers expo for 2016 is days away and it's shaping up to be one of the best yet. There will be over 45 different business stalls to visit on the day, with many offering hands-on and practical experience.

There are jobs in the Shoalhaven for young people. This statement might seem at odds with the current 18 percent youth unemployment rate of the area, but a number of local businesses say it’s true. Those businesses will be at the Shoalhaven Careers Expo on Friday, July 22 at the University of Wollongong’s Shoalhaven Campus attempting to bridge the apparent gap between youth and employment.

The futures of hundreds of year 10 students may well have been set on Friday as they walked among the inspiring exhibits at the Shoalhaven Careers Expo. The expo featured exhibitors ranging from defence to government, community and business organisations ready to speak with students about career options.

Year 10 students from high schools throughout the Shoalhaven, as well as interested members of the public, flocked to the Shoalhaven campus of the University of Wollongong on Friday for the annual Shoalhaven Careers Expo.

Monday saw the University of Wollongong Shoalhaven Campus invaded by approximately 1000 year 10 students. Students from Ulladulla High School to Bomaderry High School attended the Shoalhaven Careers Expo to gain knowledge about possible future careers and pathways.
